Each summer, Lorain County Right to Life has an educational booth at various fairs and festivals throughout Lorain County.
In 2020, no fairs were held due to COVID-19. But for 2021, we’re back at the North Ridgeville Corn Festival, the Lorain County Fair, and the Elyria Apple Festival!
Our booth has lots of great Pro-Life information. We have the fetal models on display, along with numerous pieces of educational literature. There are also Precious Feet pins, bumper stickers, and other items for sale. This year, we are excited to have the “Truth Booth”, a video showing the humanity of children before birth via real-time ultrasound!
The fair booth really does make a difference to the people who pass by. Moms and dads with young children often stop by the booth to show the fetal models to their children in order to show how big their “little brother or sister is inside Mommy’s tummy” or to share “this is how big Aunt Mary’s baby is” and so on. Children, in their innocence, are in awe of preborn children.
Sometimes expectant moms who aren’t as thrilled with their pregnancy stop by the booth and have their eyes opened to the precious little one they are carrying. Most people who stop by the booth are interested in the Pro-Life message.
From time to time someone stops by who doesn’t understand why we’re Pro-Life, but prayer and the Holy Spirit will usually provide a way to help them.
We ask you to prayerfully consider volunteering your time this summer to help staff the Lorain County Right to Life booth at one of the upcoming fairs. We are now scheduling volunteers.
This year’s festival and fair dates are as follows:
- North Ridgeville Corn Festival, Aug. 13-15
- Lorain County Fair, August 23-29
- Elyria Apple Festival, September 17-19
Usually two people staff the booth for a 3 hour shift. If you haven’t done something like this before, you can be paired with someone with booth experience.
This year we are encouraging our Volunteers to visit our new Fair and Festival Volunteers Orientation page. The page has some background information on Lorain County Right to Life, what to expect at the Fair Booth, and several short, but excellent training videos.
We also encourage you to become familiar with our website. We list resources there for expectant moms, for women that have been involved with abortion, and we have lots of educational information.
Many helpers are needed to make sure the Right to Life fair booth is staffed throughout multiple fairs. This is a great opportunity to meet other Pro-Life people, and to spread the Pro-Life message that each person is a precious creation of God that deserves our love and respect.
Helping with the Right to Life booth is a rewarding experience that makes a positive difference and saves lives! Please volunteer to help and please share this invitation with others. Thank you and God bless you!
If you would like to help with the cost of the Right to Life booth (registration fees, booth materials, handouts, etc.) please use our convenient, secure On-line Donations Page. Thank you!
