Life is an Amazing Gift
Every one of us began our lives as a single cell...
smaller than a grain of sugar, but with all our traits already determined: boy or girl, eye color, hair color, and even our dimples!
By day 21, our hearts were circulating our own blood. At 40 days, our brain waves could be detected.
By 8 weeks, every organ was present, and our liver and kidneys were functioning.
At 4 months, we could suck our thumb, turn somersaults, and we could feel pain.
From that point forward, we have simply grown up!
Each of us, from the very beginning, is fully human and fully alive; unique and unrepeatable. Each one of us is valuable beyond measure and is endowed with rights, specifically because God has poured His creative genius into making each of us. In God’s plan, a husband and wife are given the awesome privilege of co-creating, with God, a brand new human life. We can rejoice that, from the very beginning of our lives, we are wonderfully made to know and to love God and each other.
Abortion Kills
Abortion destroys life, killing a living, growing human child. Surgical abortion rips a defenseless human child to pieces. Chemical abortion (also called “medication abortion” or “the abortion pill”) is a two-drug process. The first pill (Mifepristone or RU-486) deprives a baby of the nutrients he or she needs. The baby then dies inside their mother. The second pill (Misoprostol or Cytotec) causes uterine contractions that expel the baby.
